Leo Pacheco is a storyteller, best-selling author, former radio and television host, and now songwriter whose work lives at the intersection of story and song.

Known for his ongoing musical anthology, A Storybook in Song, Leo transforms short stories, personal reflections, and emotionally driven narratives into cinematic musical experiences designed to move, inspire, entertain, and connect with listeners across generations.

The concept began through conversations with a fellow Nashville songwriter and a simple creative question: What if a short story could unfold like a song?

That idea became A Storybook in Song—an ever-growing collection of songs that feel less like traditional singles and more like living chapters from a book, where characters, memories, faith, humor, heartache, and hope come alive through lyric and melody.

STORIES WITHOUT GENRE BOUNDARIES

Leo's music refuses to stay inside a single musical lane. His eclectic catalog moves naturally between country storytelling, Gospel inspiration, jazz undertones, pop melodies, cinematic ballads, and playful, toe-tapping anthems.

Add to the mix country rock, R&B sounds, techno, and music Leo says stretches his musical styles.  "I want to create music that speaks to people.  And when I write, a lot of times it hits me that it needs to be a certain style, which often takes me out of box,"  he says, "I love music of all styles and I never saw songwriting on my radar.  But, it really came to me very naturally, being an author and radio host.  I have a lot to say!" 

The genre may change. The voice may change. The tempo may change.  The story always comes first.

Each release invites listeners into familiar human experiences—love and loss, faith and doubt, nostalgia and laughter, struggle and redemption, broken hearts and second chances.

Some songs may make you think.
Some may make you laugh.

And every once in a while, one may stop you in your tracks.

That's the point.

A STORYTELLER LONG BEFORE THE MUSIC

Before turning his storytelling toward songwriting, Leo established himself as a best-selling author, publishing nine books through the former Watermark Publishing,and being a contributor to the renowned Chicken Soup for the Soul series.

With plans for more books to come, right now he is concentrating his efforts on his myriad business endeavors and songwriting.

His years as a radio and television host further shaped a style that is conversational, visual, heartfelt, and engaging. His roots in music stretch back even further. Growing up in a musical family, Leo cut his teeth as a concert and radio promoter in his early twenties and was previously a member of the Country Music Association, Gospel Music Association, and Academy of Country Music.

While he'll be the first to tell you he isn't a singer or musician, Leo has developed an instinctive ear for how a story should sound, feel, build, and ultimately land, musically.

That freedom has allowed him to write across genres, generations, and musical styles without losing the thread that connects them all: the story.

In fact, he acknowledges that his music doesn't tend to be radio or concert-ready.  "Most of my songs are longer than the typical radio cut or too wordy for a concert.  We're talking Taylor Swift territory," he laughs.  "But, that's the point of being a storybook in song.  It's about the story, not a single on a radio station.  Not saying a well known artist or radio station can't play my music."

Leo welcomes the opportunity to "modify" his music if a well-known artist decides to record one of his tunes, however.  As a BMI-affiliated songwriter, his music is available for any artist or band of any genre.
